A Manassas woman was killed Thursday in a crash in the coastal Virginia county of James City, the Newport News Daily Press reports.
Lauren Michele Monroe, 43, of Waterbury Court died at the scene of the crash, which happened on Interstate 64 westbound around 3 p.m.
Virginia state police said Monroe was driving a 2003 Town and Country Chrysler when it collided with 2005 Subaru Outback driven by a Cape Charles, Va. woman. Both cars traveled into the median with Monroe's car hitting a tree, causing her to be partially ejected from the vehicle.
The Subaru struck a barrier and overturned. The driver was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.
