Arrests Made in Child Pornography Investigation

Search warrants were conducted at Manassas and Manassas Park residences.

Two suspects—one in Virginia and one in Pennsylvania—were arrested this week after an extensive investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography.

Ryan Michael Hirmer, 19, of Grant Avenue in the city of Manassas was arrested Wednesday and is charged with two felony counts of possession of child pornography, Manassas Police said Friday.

After a 20-month investigation, police executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence and discovered he'd been using a file-sharing program to obtain child pornography over the Internet for personal use, according to police documents.
