Arrests Made in Manassas Burglary Spree

Two men responsible for a rash of burglaries in the Bull Run area of Manassas were caught after selling the stolen items on Craigslist.

Police in Prince William County have arrested two men in connection with a rash of burglaries in the Bull Run area of Manassas dating back to last November, according to Officer Jonathan Perok.

 The arrests came after an investigation led police to believe the two suspects had been selling the stolen items taken from homes on Craigslist.

Thomas Michael Lopez, 19, of  Terrace View Ct. in Manassas City and Larry Steven Salamanca, 19, of Fairfax Street in Manassas City have been arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of grand larceny.

Their court date is set for Feb. 22. No bond information was made available.

According to police, the reported burglaries go back to the end of November 2010, with most occurring during the day while the homeowners were at work. In most cases, entrance into the targeted homes was gained by breaking a rear sliding glass door.

The thieves took jewelry, laptops, gaming consoles, money and a handgun, police said.
