Blotter: Purse Stolen From Parking Garage, Burglary on Weems Road

Recent incidents in the Manassas City Police jurisdiction.

Manassas City Police investigated the following recent incidents. 

Larceny: A purse was stolen from a vehicle in a parking garage at 9102 Prince William Street, around 1:20 a.m. An Officer on foot patrol found Joseph Wycliff Roberson, Jr., 24, and also recovered the purse. Roberson, of 9834 Buckner Road, was charged with grand larceny. He will appear in court on Sept. 3. 

Larceny: The owner of a Jeep-style car parked on the 8600 block of Lamont Court discovered around 9 a.m. Monday that someone had entered through the zippered plastic window and stolen loose change and stereo equipment. 

Auto theft: The owner of a 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck reported that the car was stolen from a driveway on the 8900 block of Traveller Street sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday and 5:30 a.m. Monday. The truck was found around 11 p.m. the same day, parked a few blocks away.

Burglary: The residents of a home on the 8600 block of Weems Road reported that cash, video games and a video system were stolen while they were on vacation sometime between July 22 and August 3. Police said there was no sign of forced entry.
