Bristow House Fire Injures 3, Causes $240,000 in Damages

A child and parents were displaced as a result of the Western Prince William County home fire.

Two firefighters and a resident of a Bristow home were injured and the house severely damaged by fire Wednesday afternoon, according to Prince William County Fire and Rescue reports. 

Units responded to the 8500 block of Trade Wind Court around 1:38 p.m. and found fire burning in the back of the two-story, single-family house. 

Firefighters said the blaze extended upward from the rear deck, into the first-floor living areas and up into the attic.

A preliminary estimate calculates the loss at $240,000, Prince William County authorities said. 

The Red Cross responded and assisted the two adults and the child who were living in the home while county police managed the scene.

Authorities said the home's smoke alarms did sound during the fire.  

The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire investigators from the county fire marshal’s office.
