Former Minnieland Academy Employees Charged in Child Abuse Investigation
Additional charges pending in the daycare abuse investigation, according to Prince William County Police.
Two Woodbridge residents have been charged with cruelty or injury to a child and assault and battery in an ongoing investigation into alleged abuse at Minnieland Academy at 4290 Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge.
Detectives began investigating on Nov. 7.
"The investigation revealed that between January and August of 2013, two employees assaulted and abused at least three children, between the ages of 1 and 2, who were in their care at the facility," Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said in a release. "Following the investigation, detectives consulted the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and obtained charges against both employees. The investigation continues and additional charges are pending."

Kierra Nicole Spriggs, 24, was charged with two counts of cruelty or injury to a child and two counts of assault and battery. Sarah A. Jordan, 29, was also charged with two counts of cruelty or injury to a child and two counts of assault and battery. Their court dates are to be announced.
