Construction Site Theft: Garage Door Remotes Swiped From New Neighborhood

The thefts have been identified over the past few months as homes are finished, according to Manassas City Police.

Developers of a new townhome community in Manassas contacted police this week regarding a string of thefts from several units. In each case, the garage door remote has been stolen, according to Manassas City Police.

The thefts were discovered slowly over the past few months as homes were sold at Hastings Marketplace in the area of the 9900 block of Leander Lane.

The remotes appear to have been stolen while the units were under construction and identified during the final walk-throughs for units on Bentfield Drive, Fendall Street, Libeau Drive, Wellington Road and Leander Lane.
