A Manassas man was arrested after forcing woman into freezer where they worked and attacking her.

Man Faces Assault Charges, Accused of Attacking Woman in Freezer

A Manassas man has been arrested, accused of forcing a coworker into a walk-in freezer at a local restaurant and assaulting her, according to Prince William County Police.

Rafael Alonso Perez Lazo , 25, of Coverstone Hill Court in Manassas (20109) was charged with abduction and assault and battery after a June 10th investigation at the Eggspectation located  in Gainesville.

The victim, identified as  a 22-year-old Haymarket woman, told police the alleged assault occurred while she and the accused, whom she knew, were closing the restaurant around 8:30 p.m. on June 10.

 The accused would not let the victim out of the freezer, but she was eventually able to  text a co-worker who then was able to open the freezer and let the victim out. On June 20, warrants were obtained against the accused who turned himself into police on the next day.

Elementary School Vandalized; Reward Offered

Prince William County Police responded to Mullen Elementary School located on Rodes Dr in Manassas (20109) after employees there reported vandalism done to the property.

Staff at the school told police that sometime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on June 21, two windows had been broken out on two separate modular buildings. Five screens on windows had also been vandalized. Total damage was estimated around $650, according to Prince William County Police.

Local Business Burglarized

Prince William County Police responded to the Leona Building and Truck Accessories business located at 8136 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) for the report of a burglary.

Employees there reported to police that the burglary had occurred sometime between 5:30PM on June 18th and 7:00AM on June 20th.

Entry appeared to have been made through a door on a modular office building, which had been forced opened, police said. An undisclosed amount money was reported missing.
