Crime Blotter: Man Pulls Gun Over Beer; Grant Ave. Burglary; Prowler

Money Stolen from Grant Avenue Home

Police responded to the 10400 block of Grant Ave. in on July 24 shortly before 9 p.m. to investigate a burglary.

The homeowner told police that someone had entered the home and stolen an undisclosed amount of cash sometime between 12 and 4pm. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Police are investigating.

Man Denied Beer Gets Gun

It happened in the early morning hours of July 27 in the 9800 block of Maury Lane in the Georgetown South community. The victim was sitting on the front steps of his residence when man approached him and asked for a beer.

The subject left after the victim denied his request, but returned with a gun. The victim went inside the residence to call police after the armed subject became confrontational.

The suspect has been described as a black male, 30-35 years old, 180-200 pounds and 5’10”-6”0” tall. He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and sneakers at the time of the incident.

Police Look for Prowler

A woman working on the computer in the basement of her residence told police she witnessed a man staring at her through the sliding glass door. It happened shortly after midnight on July 28 in the City of Manassas. No exact address was given.

The suspect has been identified as a Hispanic male, 5’5”- 5’8” tall, heavy set with short dark hair. He was last seen wearing cargo shorts and a sleeveless red shirt.

All of the above cases are being investigated. The Manassas City Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.  The confidential 24-hour tip line is (703) 330-0330.
