Crime Blotter: Mother Arrested After Child, 2, Found Wandering Parking Lot

Prince William County Police: Mother arrested; home burglarized of medication.

Arrests:

A 33-year-old woman has been arrested after her children were found unsupervised at Red Roof Inn in Manassas. Authorities were called after a 2-year-old girl was found wandering the parking lot of the hotel by herself. Authorities then located a 10-year-old in a nearby hotel room, also by himself. An investigation has revealed  the mother, identified as 33-year-old Razel Joyce Dean, had left the children alone while she went to work. The children were left alone for approximately an hour to an hour and a half, according to police.  The children were checked out by medical staff and are currently in the care of relatives. Dean, of no known address, was arrested and charged with two counts of felony child neglect.

 Burglary:

On April 10th, shortly after 6 p.m., police responded to the 9800 block of Lomond Dr. in Manassas (20109) for a burglary. A homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00 p.m. on April 9th and 8:00 a.m. on April 10th. Entry appeared to have been made through a bedroom window, which had been broken out. Medication valued around $100 was reported missing.
