Crime Blotter: Teen Robbed, Assaulted Walking Home From School; Gang Member Arrested

Gang Member Arrested

Manassas City Police Officers have arrested a Manassas man accused of having ties to local gangs and stabbing a 20-year-old man.

Officers responded to the 10000 block of Azalea Grove Drive in the early morning hours of Feb. 10. for the report of a stabbing. That's where they found a 20-year-old male with stab wounds to the upper body.

According to Sgt. Eddie Rivera with the MCPD, an investigation led to the arrest of Tiny Eugene Armitage, also known as Raeshawn Lambert,  of 9209 Douglas Street, who allegedly got into a fight with the victim, which resulted in the stabbing.

Officer found Armitage walking on Douglas Street sometime after the stabbing, where he was arrested. He has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and  gang participation after a the joint investigation with the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force revealed his ties with local gangs.

Armitage was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, with no bond. His court date was set for March 20, 2012.

Teen Robbed, Attacked After Getting Off School Bus

Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 9200 block of Taney Road on February 2, for the report of a robbery.

The victim’s father told officers that his 14-year-old son was on Byrd Drive,  walking home from the school bus when another juvenile demanded money from him, according to Sgt. Rivera with the Manassas City Police Department. 

The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim after his demands were not met, according to police. The victim received injuries to his face and eye, stemming from the assault.

Officers obtained petitions on a 13-year-old male, charging him with robbery and assault, one day after the alleged assault took place. The juvenile was held at a local juvenile detention center and had his first court appearance last week.
