Vandalism to Church, Indecent Exposure and Pedestrian Struck

Burglary

Manassas City Police Officers are investigating a burglary that occurred sometime between 4:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on August 12, 2011, in the 9400 block of Taney Road.

The victim told police that sometime throughout the early morning hours, unknown person(s) entered her residence through a locked living room window and stole a PlayStation 3 and two video games. The total cost of the stolen items was valued at over $600.00.

Theft from Vehicles

Manassas City Police Officers responded to the 8400 block of Willow Glen Court regarding a theft from a vehicle. The victim told officers that sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on August 14, 2011; unknown person(s) removed loose coins, and other miscellaneous items from his unlocked vehicle.

While still in the neighborhood, officers were advised by another victim that during the same time period, unknown person(s) removed a Garmin GPS from his vehicle. The GPS was valued at over $200.00.

Residents are reminded to park their vehicles in well lit areas during night time hours and to make sure that their vehicles are locked.

 

Vandalism to Vehicle

Manassas City Police Officers are investigating a vandalism that occurred between 9:00 p.m. on August 11, 2011 and 8:30 a.m. on August 12, 2011, in the 8600 block of Point of Woods Drive.

The victim told officers that on the morning of the 12th, he stepped outside to discover that someone had broken two of his car’s windows. The cost of the vandalism was estimated at over $300.00.

 Vandalism to Church

Manassas City Police Officers are investigating two vandalisms that occurred between 9:20 p.m. on August 12, 2011 and 8:00 a.m. on August 14, 2011 to a church located in the 8600 block of Plantation Lane. This specific church has been the victim of multiple vandalisms in the past month. In this past weekend’s incidents, stained glass windows were vandalized. The other incidents also involved vandalism to the church’s stained glass windows. The total costs of the damages were over $350.00.

 

Exposure

Manassas City Police Officers were summoned to the 10200 block of Bens Way, regarding a male subject exposing himself to a female subject that was walking her dog on Winters Branch Trail. The victim stated to officers that on August 13, 2011, at approximately 2:00 p.m., she was on the trail, near Bens Way, when she observed the subject standing to her left, fondling himself. The suspect was described as a middle-aged, heavy set Hispanic male, approximately 5’10” tall, with brown hair. He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a tan or yellow t-shirt. The suspect had the t-shirt over his face at the time of the incident.

Several officers searched the area, with negative results.

The abovementioned cases are ongoing. The Manassas City Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward up to $1000 for information that leads to an arrest in these cases.  The confidential 24-hour tip line is (703) 330-0330.

Pedestrian Struck

On August 14, 2011, at approximately 2: 00 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were called to the 9000 block of Centreville Road regarding a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle.  The vehicle, a 2001 Subaru Outback remained on scene and the driver was interviewed by police officers.

According to witnesses, two subjects were walking Northbound on Centreville Road when they attempted to cross the street. They walked in front of a vehicle that was stopped in the turn lane when one of the pedestrians walked into oncoming traffic. The subject was transported to Fairfax Hospital, due to the severity of his injuries. He sustained an eye injury, broken ribs, broken right leg, and a possible broken elbow. He was listed in stable condition when last checked.

Police Accident Investigators responded to the scene and deemed that the driver was not at fault.
