Crime Blotter: Man Pistol-whipped in G'Town South Robbery; Stolen Car Used in Hit and Run

The victim of a violent robbery in Georgetown South Tuesday night suffered a head injury and was flown to a nearby hospital, police said.

Robbery in Georgetown South Turns Violent

Manassas City Police is investigating a robbery that occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Georgetown South neighborhood.

Officers were summoned to the 9400 block of Taney Road near the Georgetown South Community Center for the report of a with a gun. Upon their arrival, police found an injured man bleeding from his head.

The victim told officers a black male subject had robbed him, then pistol whipped him several times.

Witnesses stated that they observed a black male assaulting the victim before fleeing the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks, who was wearing a jacket with black and white horizontal stripes at the time of the incident.

The victim was flown out to Fairfax Hospital due to the extent of his injuries, police said.

This investigation is ongoing.

Stolen Vehicle Used in Hit and Run

Manassas City Police is investigating a hit and run incident in the 9500 block of Stonewall Road, involving a car that was stolen from Fairfax.

The driver of the striking vehicle, who identified himself as Daryl Cooper at the time of the incident on Nov. 7 around 4:30 in the afternoon, told the victim he would contact them at a later time to supply him with insurance information.

Police were notified after the offender failed to call the victim.

An investigation has revealed that the suspect’s vehicle, a 2004 Honda Civic, had been stolen out of Fairfax.

The driver of the stolen vehicle was described as black male, 19-22 years old, 6’0”- 6’2” tall and approximately 160 – 170 lbs.

This investigation is ongoing.
