Dog Death Under Investigation

Manassas City Police's weekly crime log.

The Manassas City Police Department said it is investigating if a large black dog killed a smaller dog on Grant Avenue last week.

The press release states that a person called police on July 30 to report that in the 9700 block of Grant Avenue, a large black dog was carrying by its mouth a smaller white dog.

"Both dogs were located and the small dog was transported to an emergency veterinary clinic where it was euthanized due to its extensive injuries. The large dog will be quarantined for a period of 10 days at the Manassas Animal Shelter for observing purposes," the report states.

Police did not release the breed of each dog.

 Indecent Exposure Arrest

 On July 31, at approximately 6:40 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were summoned to the area of Station Crossing Way regarding a naked male in the area. Officers located the subject and attempted to make an arrest when a brief struggle ensued. Pepper spray was deployed in order to subdue the subject. He was then taken into custody and charged with Indecent Exposure, along with Resisting Arrest. The subject

was later identified as Louis Hahn Jr. of Front Royal, Virginia.

During questioning, Hahn advised the police that he had recently met a subject online and had traveled to Manassas to see him. He said that during a rendezvous with the subject, his clothes, money and car was stolen from him. The car was described as a 1994 Honda Accord station wagon.

This investigation is ongoing. Mr. Hahn’s court date was set for Sept. 13

Driving Under the Influence of Drugs

On July 30, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Manassas City Police were summoned to the intersection of Sudley Road and Mathis Avenue for a motor vehicle accident.

Witnesses stated that they observed a Nissan Altima traveling on the wrong side of the roadway on Sudley Road when the vehicle struck a 2003 BMW. The vehicle then struck a Dodge Durango, while attempting to flee the scene. The driver was then stopped and detained by a passerby until police arrived.

After a brief investigation, police arrested the driver, Emma Bland, of 9062 Old Hickory Court, and charged her with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs. Bland was released on a summons for the said charge but is also facing other narcotics charges due to items that were recovered from her vehicle at the time of the incident. Bland was treated at Prince William Hospital.

Ms. Bland’s court date was set for Oct. 24.

 

On July 30, at approximately 3:40 a.m., Manassas City Police Officers were conducting foot patrol in the 9600 block of Aspen Place, when they encountered a male attempting to forcibly gain entry into a residence by kicking in the door. The officers also observed that the subject was bleeding for the head and face. The subject was apprehended after a brief struggle with the police. He was later identified as Shakim Prince Mcghaney, of 12815 Greenhall Drive, in Woodbridge, Virginia.

An investigation followed when the officers learned that Mcghaney was involved in a confrontation with a female subject and had punched her in the face. The victim, while being interviewed, stated that Mcghaney had assaulted her and was chasing her up the stairs, when in order to protect herself, she picked up a television that was sitting in the hallway and threw it at Mcghaney, striking him in the face.

Shakim Mcghaney was placed under arrest for two counts of Assault on Law Enforcement Officers, Breaking and Entering Into a Dwelling with Intent to Commit Assault and Battery, along with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. He is currently being held at the Prince William Adult Detention Center with no bond. His court date was set for Sept. 27

On July 31, at approximately 11:55 p.m., Manassas City Police Officers were summoned to the area of Main Street and Azure Court, regarding several subjects breaking into vehicles. Upon their arrival, officers encountered one male and two female subjects matching the descriptions. They were later identified as Antwon Joshua Robinson, of 9024 Old Hickory Court, Sierra Monique Smith, of 8637 Cartwrite Court, in Manassas Park and Courtney Lanae Quinn, also of 8637 Cartwrite Court.

Robinson was placed under arrest and charged with Grand Larceny, Vehicle Tampering and Trespassing, due to the fact that he was on posted property when stopped by the police officers.

Ms. Smith and Ms Quinn were also charged with Grand Larceny and Vehicle Tampering.

Their bonds or court dates are unknown.
