Driver Dead After Striking Trees on Brentsville Road

Prince William County Police believe that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

A West Virginia man died after striking several trees on Brentsville Road in the Manassas area, Prince William County Police said.

Zachary Adam Kitchen, 27, of Charles Town, was pronounced dead at the scene, around 12:02 a.m. Thursday.

"At this point in the investigation, speed and alcohol are believed to be factors contributing to this crash," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said in a press release.

Police said that Kitchen was traveling northbound on Brentsville Road in his 2003 Lincoln Aviator when he lost control, left the road and then struck multiple trees. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car. No other cars were involved.
