Drunken Driver Strikes Police Cruiser

Man who ran into police cruiser while traveling north on the Prince William County Parkway early Saturday morning was drunk, police said.

Two men have been arrested after their vehicle struck an officer’s police cruiser while traveling northbound on the Prince William County Parkway early Saturday morning.

It happened on the parkway near Wellington Road in Manassas around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. The officer was traveling northbound on the parkway in a marked police cruiser when a vehicle, traveling well over the speed limit, struck the officer’s cruiser from behind, police said.

The officer was transported to a nearby hosptial with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle, age 29, of Stafford, was arrested and charged with drunken driving and possession of marijuana.

The passenger of the striking vehicle was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
