Prince William County police have charged two men who they believe stole a car and burglarized a Manassas home.
On Tuesday, officers arrested Dunemis Zane Schell, 18, of Gainesville, and Joshua David McDermott, 21, of no fixed address.
The two face the same charges: three counts of grand larceny of a firearm, two counts of grand larceny, two counts of credit card theft, one count of possession of burglarious tools, one count of credit card fraud and one count of burglary.
Police said that $3,700 worth of items, including two handguns and two iPods, were stolen from a home earlier this week. They responded on Tuesday at 3:10 p.m. to a call from a homeowner on the 11900 block of Falling Creek Dr. They said that the illegal entry was made by breaking a front window.
Later that day, Manassas City police officers stopped Schell and McDermott as they were driving in two separate vehicles. A resident of Spyglass Loop had reported one of the vehicles stolen earlier that day. Police officers found the firearms from Falling Creek Drive inside one of the vehicles.
Additionally, police found that the suspects had purchased gas with the stolen credit cards. Officers said that the men had also stolen an undetermined amount of money.
Both men were held without bond.
