Duo Robs Manassas Pharmacy, Threatens to Shoot Customers, Police Said

Two people were arrested in connection with a robbery at a CVS Pharmacy in Manassas this month. 

Melissa S. Powell, 35, of Kahns Road is charged with robbery and possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance.  Steven L. Farrar, 26, of Kahns Road is charged with robbery, Manassas Police reports show.  

Surveillance video and witness testimony revealed the couple entered the CVS Pharmacy at 9200 Centreville Rd. at 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 17 and stood in line at the drug counter.

When they reached the counter, the female suspect handed a note to staff demanding narcotics. The note stated that she would begin shooting people if the demands weren't met, police said. 

The male suspect verbally reiterated the threat, but no firearm was ever displayed by either suspect.   The pharmacist complied while another staff member called police.

Manassas Police arrived on the scene as the suspects were exiting the and arrested them. 

Powell and Farrar were held without bond in Manassas.  Each has a pending court date of March 4.
