Elementary School Asst. Principal Faces Child Pornograpy Charges

Greenville Elementary School Assistant Principal Joshua Myers, 29, of Warrenton, was arrested Wednesday for possessing and distributing child pornography.

An assistant principal at a Nokesville elementary school has been arrested after possessing and distributing child pornography.

According to a press release from the U.S. District Attorney's office, Greenville Elementary School Assistant Principal  Joshua Myers, 29, of Warrenton, was arrested Wednesday for having in his possession and the sharing illegal images and videos. 

Court documents obtained by the District Attorney's Office stated Myers was identified through an undercover investigation of file-sharing software used to view and send child pornography.

Folders on Meyers' computer were found to contain  illicit images after he provided his password to an undercover agent conducting the investigation. Myers also told the agent he had traveled as far away as California to have sex with children, ranging in ages nine to 14 years old.

It was discovered that Myers had shared multiple videos containing child pornography, including a video of a woman sexually abusing a two-year-old boy.

Myers was arrested following a search of his place of residence and admitted to communicating with the undercover agent and possessing child pornography, including on his work-issued laptop at school.

The FBI,  with assistance from the Warrenton Police Department, conducted the investigation that led to Myers arrest.

Special Assistant United States Attorney Maureen C. Cain is prosecuting the case against Myers, who is expected in court tomorrow for the child pornography charges. Myers is not currently facing any child abuse charges.

Greenville Elementary School is part of the Fauquier County Public School system.
