Fire Marshal: Restroom Fire at Metz Middle Set by Students

Incident caused $20,000 in damage. City seeking tips on perpetrators.

The City of Manassas Fire Marshal says one or more students intentionally set a fire during school hours March 20 in the restroom at Metz Middle School.

Firefighters put out the blaze at 9950 Wellington Road in Manassas, but it caused an estimated $20,000 in damage, according to the city. 

Fire investigators determined students intentionally set paper on fire in the restroom.

Manassas Crime Solvers may pay a cash reward of up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
