One firefighter was injured while fighting a blaze in Manassas on Monday afternoon, Curtis Brodie, battalion chief of the Prince William County Fire and Rescue, said in a Tuesday release.
Firefighters from the county and Manassas City Fire and Rescue arrived at a two-story house on the 10300 block of Navarone Place just before 2 p.m. and found a fire spreading rapidly through the second floor and the attic.
The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes, but a second alarm was requested because of the extent of the flames and the weather conditions, firefighters said.
No other injuries were reported, but the house was deemed unsafe by the county's building department. No further information on the injured firefighter was released. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the county fire marshal's office.
