Former Manassas Volunteer Fire Company Firefighter Dies

Richard "Ricky" Jackson Ratcliffe of Manassas died on Friday.

A man who served his hometown of Manassas as a firefighter for more than 40 years has died. 
Richard "Ricky" Jackson Ratcliffe, 74, died Friday according to a Tribute.com obituary

The lifetime member of the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Judith Parrish Ratcliffe, daughters Jenny Ratcliffe Billingslea and Susanna Ratcliffe, two grandchildren, a sister and a host of other family and friends. 
Ratcliffe graduated from Osbourn High School in Manassas in 1957 before moving on to Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal, where he graduated the following year. 
He served in the Virginia Army National Guard and spent 45 years as a firefighter for the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company. Twenty-five of those years were spent as secretary or treasurer of the organization. 
Visitation for Ratcliffe will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church in Manassas. His funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United, his daughter Jenny Billingslea posted in a comment on the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company Facebook page, which announced Ratcliffe's death on Saturday. 

Earlier this year, John Michael “Viggi” Viggiano a longtime member of the Manassas Park Fire Department died suddenly on Sept. 29. Viggiano had served as a member of that department for 31 years. His funeral was on in early October.
