Fugitive of the Week: Man Wanted in Domestic Assault

Officers are still searching for a man who allegedly stole keys from an acquaintance earlier this month and broke into her apartment, assaulting her before leaving, according to Prince William County Police.

Nathaniel Jerome Battle, 25, is wanted for burglary, unauthorized use of a vehicle and assault and battery. He has no known last address.

Police said that on in the early morning hours of July 5, a 46-year-old Woodbridge woman reported that Battle and she had an argument that escalated. According to police, Battle grabbed the woman's hand and bit her. The woman dropped her keys when that happened, which included a key to a car she had been driving. Battle grabbed the keys and fled in the vehicle.

The victim reported minor injuries from the bite. About an hour later, however, Battle used a house key from the ring to get inside the victim's home, police said. He forced the door open, breaking through a chain lock in the process. He confronted the victim in her room, grabbed her, knocked her to the ground and fled the residence on foot, police said.
