Lawmakers want a statewide task force. How has heroin touched your community?

Twelve members of Virginia’s Congressional delegation, including both U.S. Senators, have asked Gov. Terry McAuliffe to establish a statewide task force to address a growing heroin epidemic, according to The Roanoke Times.

McAuliffe's staff told the Times that it's important to address the spread of heroin.

What kind of impact has heroin had in your community? Tell us in the comments section.

Earlier this year, a large heroin bust in Stafford County included indictments of 11 suspects — less than a year after one single Stafford County arrest netted the largest heroin seizure in the region's history.

And Northern Virginia had an tragic reminder last fall that heroin reaches every community with the death of 16-year-old Emylee Lonczak of McLean, whose body was discovered in August. Her death was ruled an accident due to the "adverse effects of heroin and diphenhydramine."

What do you thing needs to be done across Virginia to address heroin use? Tell us in the comments section.
