Illegal Immigrant Charged with Sexually Assaulting Girl, 14

The suspect will be turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency immediately after all criminal proceedings have been completed, officials said.

Illegal Immigrant Charged with Sexually Assaulting Minor

An illegal immigrant has been arrested and charged, accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

According to Sergeant Eddie Rivera with the Manassas City Police Department, officers responded to the 9400 block of Fairview Avenue in reference to a report of a sexual assualt on June 28, shortly beofre 11 p.m.

An investigation revealed that the victim, identified as a 14 year old girl, had been sexually assaulted by the accused, identified as Andres Ramos Vera, of Manassas, for over four months.

Vera was charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a minor, object sexual penetration, along with sexual battery.

He will be turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency immediately after all criminal proceedings have been completed, according to officials.

Attempted Burglary

The Manassas City Police Department is investigating a burglary after an attempted burglary in the 9300 block of Battle Street between 5:00 p.m. on July 1, 2011 and 3:00 p.m. on July 6, 2011.

According to police, the suspects attempted to gain access into the building through a side window, but were unsuccessful. Damage caused to the window was estimated at over $200.00.

 

Vandalism

The Manassas City Police Department is investigating two vandalism cases that occureed in Georgetown South. Both incidents occurred between 3:00 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. on July 5, 2011, according to Sergeant Eddie Rivera.  Residential fences were vandalized in the 9700 block of Aspen Place and 9200 block of George Street. The vandalisms were estimated at over $300.00.
