Two Indicted in Case of Fatal Gang Attack

Men arrested in connection with fatal gang attack in Manassas indicted on several charges, including second degree murder and gang participation.

in a gang-related assault was heard by a grand jury, according to information provided by the Manassas City Police Department (MCPD) Wednesday.

The case involving Justin Lee Finley, of Gainesville, and Stephon Damont Greene, of Manassas, was heard in Prince William County General District Court on Aug. 23, according to Sgt. Brian Larkin with the MCPD. The judge ordered the aggravated malicious wounding charges would go to the circuit court’s grand jury in September.

Both men were also indicted on Tuesday for assault and battery, second degree murder and three counts of gang participation. The grand jury returned the indictments after finding probable cause for each charge and a continuing investigation, according to Larkin. Court dates were expected to be set by today.

The victim, John Henry Jackson, of Manassas Park, died on May 28, 2012, as a result of his injuries sustained during the attack on the afternoon of March 17 on Aspen Place in the City of Manassas. 

According to a witness at the scene who spoke with police, Jackson had been “jumped” by two other males. Witnesses also told police the assault was gang-related. Jackson was 19 years old at the time of his death.
