Man Charged With Abducting Acquaintance

Eric Craig Sowers, 40, of the Manassas area, faces multiple charges in relation to the incident.

A Manassas area man faces charges after he allegedly assaulted and abducted an acquaintance, Prince William County Police said. 

Eric Craig Sowers, 40, of the 9800 block of Fairmont Ave, is charged with abduction, two counts of domestic assault and battery and destruction of property. 

A 38-year-old woman reported that she and Sowers were arguing on Tuesday when he allegedly assaulted her and forced her into an upstairs room. Police said that Sowers allegedly held the woman there for about an hour, until she was able to dial 911. She hung up, which prompted a police response at 3:10 p.m.

Sowers also reportedly broke a $200 interior door. The victim reported minor injuries.
