Man Charged With Assault on Officer

Man faces several charges including assault and battery on an officer after police were called to area restaurant for disorderly patron.

Police in Prince William County have charged a man from Irongate with assault and battery on an officer, resisting arrest, drunk in public and destruction of property after an incident at the Coast Real Restaurant on Sudley Road Friday night.

Police said they responded to the restaurant for a disorderly patron on March 18th at 11:17 p.m.  Officers located the accused, identified as 27-year-old Arcenio Rivas of Irongate Way in Manassas. According to police, Rivas appeared to have been under the influence of alcohol and attempted to grab at the officers multiple times. Rivas was arrested.

That is when Rivas allegedly attempted to pull away from the officers and was placed against a large glass window, which shattered, according to police.
