Man Charged with Reckless Handling of Firearm

Prince William County Police responded to Prince William Hospital to investigate a shooting.

A Manassas man is facing charges of reckless handling of a firearm, shooting into an occupied dwelling and possession of marijuana after Prince William County Police investigated an alleged shooting. 

Police responded to the Prince William Hospital at 11:58 p.m. on Oct. 15 to investigate something that was reported to have occurred in the 8100 block of Portwood Turn in Manassas off of Sudley Road.

"The investigation revealed that the accused had shot himself in the foot while inside his residence in the above area," said a news release from the Prince William County Police department. "After the shooting, the accused was taken to the hospital by a friend where police were notified. No other injuries or property damage were reported."

Taylor Gheen Miller 18, of Manassas, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was charged. Police said that when officers conducted a search of the residence, marijuana was located. Taylor Gheen Miller 18, of Manassas,
