Man Charged With Stabbing Acquaintance

Elio Anabel Cruz Garcia, 48, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, police said.

A local man was charged after he allegedly stabbed an acquaintance during an argument, Prince William County Police said. 

Elio Anabel Cruz Garcia, 48, of the Manassas area, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding. 

The 36-year-old victim reported that he was arguing with Cruz Garcia at his residence on the 10900 block of Coverstone Drive, when they began to argue.

Cruz Garcia "grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest," Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department, said in a press release. "Following the altercation, the victim retreated to a back room, where the aaccused followed and the assault continued."

The victim was able to leave the home eventually and contacted police at a nearby 7-Eleven. His injuries were non-life-threatening. He was flown to an area hospital as a precaution.

Police located Cruz Garcia in the parking lot of his apartment complex. He was arrested without further incident. His court date is set for Feb. 27.
