Man Wanted in New Year's Day Shooting in Manassas Area

The man has ties to Fairfax County and Alexandria.

A North Carolina man with ties to Northern Virginia is wanted in connection with the New Year's Day shooting of a Manassas man, Prince William County Police said on Thursday. 

David Jamar Moore, 25, is wanted for aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, investigators said. 

It happened just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday on the 10100 block of Shiloh court in  the Manassas area of Prince William County.

Witnesses told police an argument between the victim and the suspect broke out inside a home in the area and escalated as it moved outdoors. 

At some point, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the leg, police said.

When police made it to the scene, they found the 31-year-old suspect on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. 

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. 

The suspect is described as a black man standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.  

He was last seen wearing a light-green jacket, blue jeans and tan-colored Timberland boots while getting into a silver Honda Accord sedan. 

The suspect's last known home is in Fayetteville, N.C. but police say he has ties to Fairfax County and Alexandria.
