Police: Man Arrested in Heroin Investigation

Arrest near Balls Ford Road and Ashton Avenue, according to Prince William County Police.

Prince William County Police detectives have arrested a Manassas-area man suspected of being involved in a heroin-buying transaction, according to a police spokesperson.

William Michael Berger Jr., 25, of 9173 Firethron Court, is charged with possession of a schedule one or two narcotic, police reports show.

The investigation leading up to the arrest actually happened on Feb. 21, but detectives didn't publicize the arrest because of an ongoing investigation.

Officers with the Prince William County Police Street Crimes Unit said they stopped the suspect near Balls Ford Road and Ashton Avenue after he had completed a drug transaction involving heroin.

Investigators searched the suspect's home and found heroin, packaging material, multiple firearms and cash.

The suspect is expected to appear in court on June 19. Bond information isn't available.
