Manassas Man Charged With Abduction

Police have charged Manassas resident Amado Alfaro Cruz, 26, with abduction and domestic assault and battery, after a Manassas woman reported she was abducted by a known acquaintance Saturday.

The victim told police that she was in the 100 block of Turtle Point Drive in Gainesville when the accused approached her.

"The accused displayed a knife and forced the victim into his vehicle," Perok said. The victim and the accused reportedly got into a verbal fight in the vehicle, and then the accused let her go. 

The accused was later found at his home in Manassas. His court date is unavailable. He is being held without bond.
