Police: Manassas Man Found Sleeping in Grass, Runs into Street, Pushes Officer

The Manassas man was not pleased with the interruption, Prince William County Police said.

A drunken man found slumbering in a grassy area in the Manassas area became angry when police officers tried to awake him, Prince William County Police reports show. 

Just after 9 p.m. on Sunday police responded to a call of an intoxicated person in a grassy area near Ashton Avenue and Hollis Drive in the Manassas area of the county. 

When they arrived they found a man lying in the grass, fast asleep. The man became agitated by the interruption and ran into the street, pushing one of the officers, Prince William County Police said. 
The suspect nor the officer were injured. 


Kenneth James Moore, 28, of Aspen Place in Manassas was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. 
He was held without bond.
