Manassas Man Sets Self on Fire Behind Hibachi Grill, Grocery Store

Man airlifted to burn center with severe injuries, according to Prince William County Police.

A Manassas-area man set himself on fire behind a shopping plaza just outside of Manassas city on Monday, Prince William County Police told the Washington Post

Police said the wounds were self-inflicted and severe, resulting in his being airlifted to a burn center where he remains in critical condition. 

Few people witnessed the incident and no other injuries were reported, police said. 

It happened behind Sudley Road's Westgate Plaza Shopping Center, which is home to a Giant grocery store, Panera Bread, Total Wine and Sumo Japanese Restaurant.
