Manassas Police Arrest Two on Breaking and Entering, Resisting Arrest

Ira Alonzo Campbell, of Manassas, and Robert Leroy Reid, of Remington, face multiple charges.

Manassas City Police said that officers who responded to a report of a commotion found two men breaking into an apartment on Devonshire Court. 

Robert Leroy Reid, 31, of Remington and Ira Alonzo Campbell, 30, of Winchester Court, Manassas, are both accused of breaking and entering, in addition to multiple other charges. 

The officers found Reid breaking through a sliding glass door on the 8600 block of Devonshire Court shortly before midnight on Monday, said Sgt. Lowell Nevill, a spokesman for the Manassas City Police Department.

"While being arrested Mr. Reid violently resisted and assaulted an officer," Nevill said in a press release, adding that the officer sustained minor injuries.

Campbell was arrested on the charge of being intoxicated in public, but resisted, police said. Police found that he was in possession of suspected PCP during a search.

Reid is charged with breaking and entering, destruction of property, resisting arrest, and assault on a law enforcement officer. Campbell is charged with intoxicated in public, resisting arrest, possession of a schedule I or II narcotic, and breaking and entering.

Both subjects were held without bond pending a June 25 court appearance.
