Manassas Woman Accused of Illegally Selling Guns

A federal grand jury on Friday indicted a local woman who is accused of purchasing over 25 guns in order to sell them illegally.

A Manassas woman was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday on charges of illegally selling guns—including one which allegedly ended up in the hands of a drug trafficker.

Kimberly Yvette Dinkins allegedly bought over 25 guns during a one-month period, and illegally sold all of them within 16 days of purchase, according to an affidavit filed by an ATF agent in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. One of the guns, which Dinkins purchased at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly on Nov. 17, ended up in the hands of a suspected narcotics trafficker just 13 days later in Prince George's County, Md.

“Kimberly Dinkins is accused of purchasing a high volume of handguns in 15 days, at least one of which made it into the hands of a suspected drug trafficker,” U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride said in a press release. “Illegal gun dealing is a serious crime, and we applaud the ATF for their quick work in putting this case together.”

Dinkins allegedly gave conflicting explanations to agents as to why she wanted so many guns. During another interview, she told an agent all of the guns were sold, though some were still in her possession.

Dinkins remains in custody and is charged with dealing firearms without a license and making a materially false statement. The charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison, if she is convicted.

I support the 2nd amendment but does anyone think that this could have turn into a worse case scenario?

Wow, see what happens when you actually enforce the laws already in place.

Yep, and I just bought 15 sets of kitchen knives that can be used to stab people...or 15 gallons of gas that I can start a fire with. She broke existing laws...she was caught and arrested. What policy or law do you propose that would have prevented this? Do you know anything about this woman? Would she have been prevented from buying a gun at a store? She will now. I love it when I hear a person say "I support this constitutional right, BUT..." I support the 1st amendment, but I am tired of reading stupid comments.
