Motorcyclist, Pedestrian Killed in Separate Crashes
Motorcyclist, pedestrian pronounced dead after two separate crashes in western Prince William County Sunday morning.
Police in Prince William County said they were called to investigate two separate crashes near Manassas Sunday morning, one inolving a pedestrian and another involving a motorcyclist.
Police first responded to Lee Highway (Route 29) and Old Caroline Road in Gainesville just after 5:30 a.m. Sunday for the report of a pedestrian struck. Upon further investigation, police found that the pedestrian, an unidentified adult male, was struck by a vehicle traveling on Rte. 29 after attempting to cross the road. Police said the victim later died as a result of his injuries.
Nearly an hour later, police were called to the intersection of Bristow Road and Independent Hill Drive in Brentsville for a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcyclist.

Police said an adult male motorcyclist was traveling on Bristow Road when he lost control, ran off of the roadway and struck a tree. The man, whom police have not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prince William County Police Public Information Officer Jonathan Perok said police continue to investigate both crashes and no other injuries were reported as a result of the crashes. He said the victims will be identified pending notification of next of kin.
