Police: Assault and Bicycle Hit-and-Run Reported

Recent reports from the Manassas City Police Department.

Manassas City Police said two residents reported being assaulted after being followed in their vehicle the night of Thursday, June 5.

Two residents told police they stopped at a gas station on Centreville Road and saw a white GMC or Chevrolet SUV parked across the street. Five Hispanic men inside the SUV reportedly were staring at the residents as they filled their vehicle with gas, according to police.

The two residents told police they felt threatened and left the gas station with the white SUV following closely behind them. When the residents stopped on a residential street, a man exited the SUV and assaulted the driver of the first vehicle by striking him in the face, according to a police report. When the second resident exited the vehicle to assist the resident who was struck, the second resident was also assaulted. Police say both victims had non-life-threatening injuries and nothing was stolen in the incident.
