Police: Burglar Tried to Force Way Into Woman's Home

A suspect is in custody after a burglar tried to force his way into a woman's Manassas-area home Sunday night, according to Prince William County Police.

Felipe Simon Esteban, 52, of the 10900 block of Coverstone Drive, is charged with burglary. He is being held without bond.

At 10:20 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to an apartment in the same block regarding a burglary in progress.

The victim told police that an unknown man was attempting to force her front door open, according to police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok.

The burglar was unable to enter the home and nothing was taken. Esteban was taken into custody after being identified as the suspect, Perok said in a statement.
