Police: Burglary Suspect Found Sitting Near Broken Window

Charges also include intoxicated in public, according to Prince William County Police.

A man is in custody after he was found near the window of a Manassas area store broken in an apparent burglary attempt, according to Prince William County Police.

Roosevelt Eugene Lassiter, 21, of the 15200 block of Cloverdale Road in Woodbridge, was charged with burglary, destruction of property and intoxication in public.

At 10 p.m. July 2, officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress at the I-Smoke Shop at 8370 Sudley Road, according to police spokesperson Officers Jonathan Perok.

"Officers arrived at the business and encountered the accused sitting near a broken window to the business," Perok said in a statement. 

Lassiter was detained without incident. Witnesses told police they saw him attempt to enter the business.
