Police Charge Driver in Fatal Crash That Killed Two Teens

Eighteen-year-old Christopher Eduard Suarez of Gainesville charged with reckless driving.

Police in Prince William County have charged the driver involved in an April 20 fatal crash on Logmill Road in Haymarket that killed two teenage girls.

Police charged 18-year-old Christopher Eduard Suarez of Gainesville with reckless driving on Thursday, May 19. Suarez is being held without bond and is set to appear in court in September.

Suarez was the driver of a 2005 Dodge Magmum that struck a deer as it was traveling westbound on the hilly and windy road just west of James Madison Highway after midnight on April 20.

An investigation has revealed that the collision with the deer caused Suarez to lose control, veer off the road and strike a tree.

 A total of  five occupants were inside the vehicle at the time of the single-vehicle crash

One of the occupants, identified as Kendra Kaeleen TUCKER, 15, of Gainesville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two days later, a second occupant, identified as Savanna Kidane MOURATIDIS, 15, of Haymarket, was also pronounced dead.

Police said speed was a factor in the crash and none of the occupants were wearing a seat belt.   

The remaining two occupants in the vehicle, a 14-year-old female and 17-year-old male, are expected to recover from their injuries.
