Police: Child Neglect Charged When Baby's Broken Femur Left Untreated

A Manassas-area man was arrested Tuesday after he failed to seek treatment for his 8-month-old daughter after she broke her femur, according to Prince William County Police.

Danny Quoc Tran, 21, of the 12000 block of Kemps Landing Circle is charged with felony child neglect and cruelty & injury to a child.  

According to police, Tran was playing with his daughter March 19 when he slipped and fell on top of her. The girl suffered a broken femur, according to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

"The investigation further revealed that the accused neglected to seek medical attention for the victim’s injury," Perok said in a statement. "The following day, another family member took the victim to the hospital where police were notified."

Tran was granted release on a $10,000 secured bond.
