Manassas City Police are investigating a shoplifting incident.

Manassas City Police Officers are investigating a shoplifting incident at a 7-Eleven in Manassas.

Police said in a Facebook posting that the incident happened at 12:45 a.m. on Aug. 3 at the convenience store located 9807 Cockrell Rd.

"The store employee told officers that he observed three white males steal two bottles of wine, valued at $13," reads the post. "In an attempt to stop the offenders, the employee positioned himself in front of their vehicle, a silver Toyota Camry, when he was struck by the vehicle as the offenders made their escape. The employee found himself falling under the moving vehicle so he grabbed one of its windshield wipers, causing it to break off. He did not sustain any injuries stemming from this incident."

The three suspects were only described as white, between the ages of 18 and 23 years old, police said. Police said the incident was captured on the store’s video surveillance cameras.
