Two children allegedly assaulted at the S.M.I.L.E. Day Care, according to Prince William County Police.

A Manassas-area day care director has been arrested on claims that she assaulted two children at the facility, according to Prince William County Police.

Arousha Shahin, 39 of the 5200 block of Jacobs Creek Place, Hamarket, is charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and two counts of assault and battery.

Officers received an anonymous report that Shahin had physically abused children in her care at the S.M.I.L.E. Day Care, 7171 New Market Court, according to police spokesperson officer Jonathan Perok.

"The investigation revealed that in February of 2014, the
accused assaulted two children, a 6 year old boy and a 5 year old girl, while
they were both in her care at the facility," Perok said in a statement.

Shahin was arrested Friday. She was granted a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Last winter, two former employees at the Minnieland Academy at the Glen in Woodbridge were charged with felony child cruelty charges.
