Female Bank Robbery Suspect Also Accused of Violent Carjacking

Police have identified a suspect in connection with a carjacking that took place in the Tyson's Corner area on Saturday—and it is the same woman Prince William County Police are looking for in connection with a bank robbery near Manassas the day before.

Detectives have identified a suspect in connection with a carjacking incident that took place in the Tyson’s Corner area on Saturday—and it is the same woman Prince William County Police are looking for in connection with a bank robbery near Manassas the day before.

Fairfax County Police obtained an arrest warrant Monday for Stephanie Lynn Schwab, 26, of the Manassas area in connection with the car jacking.

Police believe Schwab may be responsible for car jacking a woman at knife-point around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The victim, identified as a 59- year-old Fairfax woman, was approached in the Tyson’s Corner II parking lot of Neiman Marcus by a woman who claimed she was out of gas and needed a ride to a station, police said.

According to police, the woman invited Schwab into her vehicle, but as she drove toward Route 123, the suspect produced a knife and told the driver to get out of the vehicle.

The victim was left at the intersection of Old Courthouse Road and Route 123, police said.

There were no reported injuries and police continue to investigate.

Schwab is also wanted by Prince William County Police for the bank robbery that took place on Friday at the Virginia Commerce Bank on Balls Ford Road near Manassas.

Police ask that the public continue to be on the lookout for Schwab, and the stolen 2003 silver Acura with Virginia tags XEK8095. She is described as a white female with large blue eyes. She had brown hair below her shoulders and is around 5 feet 5 inches tall.  She wore a black hooded sweatshirt and light colored pants at the time of the car jacking Saturday and told the victim that she was a college student.
