Police Identify Bicyclist Struck, Killed By Manassas Driver

Police say the Manassas driver attended Prince William County schools but not C.D. Hylton High School.

Police have identified the bicyclist who died in a fatal crash in front of C.D. Hylton High School Friday afternoon.

Joseph James Callahan Jr., 66, of Woodbridge died at the scene. No charges have been placed against the 17-year-old Manassas driver, who struck Callahan as she was traveling northbound on Spriggs Road. The 2008 Ford Mustang left the roadway and struck Callahan on the sidewalk, police said.

The driver remained at the scene. Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
