Police: Inmate Dies at Detention Center
Death believed to be from medical complications, according to Prince William County Police.
A woman held at the regional adult detention center was found dead last week, according to Prince William County Police.
The deceased has been identified as Carolyn Nichols Hackney, 41, of Manassas.
According to police, detention center staff found Hackney unresponsive near 3:30 p.m. April 23 at the facility at 9320 Lee Avenue.
"Detention center medical personnel responded to the inmate and performed CPR, along with correctional officers, until rescue personnel arrived," according to a PWCPD release. "The inmate was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased."
Police believe the death was from apparent medical complications, but a final autopsy report is pending.
