Police Investigate Burglaries

Three Manassas-area homeowners have reported burglaries to police since the beginning of the month.

Prince William County police said three homeowners have reported burglaries since the start of June.

The first incident happened on June 1.  Police responded to the 6300 block of Etheridge Lane to investigate a call for a burglary around 3 p.m. The homeowner told police the incident occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day.  Entry appeared to have been made through a side door to an attached garage that appeared to have been forced open, police said. An interior door leading to the residence was also forced opened. A laptop, undisclosed amount of cash and other items valued at $900 were reported missing, police said.

On June 4, Police were called to investigate a second residential burglary  in the 10800 block of Buttercup Place in Manassas. The homeowner told police  the burglary occurred between between May 31 and June 3. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence, police said.

Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured front door. Jewelry, valued around $1,300, was reported missing, according to police.

Another resident called police on the afternoon of June 5 to report a burglary in the 10900 block of Coverstone Drive in Manassas.

The homeowner told police the  burglary had occurred sometime between 8:20 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the same day. Entry appeared to have been made through a window that had been forced opened, police said.  A desktop computer, two TVs and jewelry valued around $1,100 were reported missing.

Police are also investigating a commericial burglary believed to have occurred on May 30 at on Centreville Road. Police responded to the report on On May 21 when they were told by the business owner that  the burglary occurred sometime between 6:00 p.m. on May 30 and 8:00 a.m. the next morning.

There were no signs of forced entry into the business, police said.  Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured side window. Vehicle rims, valued around $800, were reported missing, according to the police report.
