Police Release Photos of Burglary Suspect

Police said 40 watches, totaling $6,000 were taken from the Ashby Jewelers store on Main Street.

 Manassas City Police are investigating the burglary of Old Town’s Ashby Jewelers. 

The jewelry store, located at 9407 Main Street, was burglarized shortly before 4 a.m. Friday, police said.  

The suspect or suspects entered the business by smashing out the front glass door, according to police, and once inside, took approximately 40 watches from two glass cases.

The value of the stolen watches is approximately $6,000, police confirm.

 A witness told police they saw a black male running from the jewelry store on Center street towards City Hall before and exiting toward the railroad tracks.

The suspect appeared to be 40 to 50 years old, 5’8” to 6”00” tall and heavyset. He was wearing a “beanie” style cap, dark clothing and carrying a dark satchel at the time of the incident.

City Police are also investigating a burglary that occurred in the 10200 block of Calypso Drive between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The suspect(s) entered the residence through an unlocked bedroom window and took a Sony PS3, two PS3 controllers, PlayStation games and a males Citizen watch. The value of the stolen property is approximately $1,100, police said.
